Community Desk Assistant

Community Desk Assistants (CDAs) provide service at the front desks of our residence halls for residents, visitors, and staff. CDA duties include but are not limited to: providing outstanding customer service, greeting all students, checking student IDs, answering the phone, taking messages, monitoring the lobby, maintaining the visitation log, assisting student housing staff members, reporting maintenance needs, checking equipment in and out, and other tasks required by the department. IT Assistant

This position will work with the Department of Student Housing IT area and perform work related to the information technology needs of the department. Work requires basic technical skills and good judgment. Student will work under the supervision of Housing IT professional staff for 10-15 hours per week.
Community Assistant

The Community Assistant (CA) is responsible for a floor, wing, or area of a residence hall or apartment community. The CA is there to help with the personal and academic concerns of the student and to help work out any group conflicts that may arise. The CA also serves as a facilitator to encourage a cooperative and considerate group living environment. The CA is expected to build a feeling of togetherness and community by initiating and helping to organize floor, wing, and hall activities and programs. The CA serves as an information resource for the campus and residence hall. Most of all, the CA is expected to be a person who cares about people and who works to make the residence hall or apartment community a valuable place to live.
